Keeping up with the latest scientific advances is a key feature of the Innovative Enology Master. As part of this commitment, students once again had the opportunity to attend a specialised session led by Víctor Puente, Technical Director of Laffort Ibérica, one of the world’s leading companies in oenological solutions.

During an engaging tasting session, students explored the role of non-Saccharomyces yeasts in producing wines with greater complexity, character and quality. They experienced first-hand how these microbiological innovations influence the sensory profile of wine and learned about some of the most significant trends shaping modern winemaking.

Activities such as this reflect the programme’s commitment to combining academic excellence with direct interaction with leading companies and internationally recognised professionals. Thanks to its long-established reputation, the Innovative Enology Master provides students with unique opportunities to learn from experts who are driving innovation across the global wine industry.

The Innovative Enology Master is jointly delivered by the Public University of Navarre (UPNA), the University of the Basque Country (EHU) and the Université de Bordeaux, offering students the opportunity to earn a double international degree.

The programme is particularly well suited to graduates in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, Biotechnology, Agricultural Engineering and related disciplines who are looking for an advanced, research-based and industry-focused specialisation in oenology.
